After obtaining immense success from his talents as a producer Kanye was struggling to find a record label to sign him and produce a record of his own. After countless attempts of seeking an artist deal Kanye was finally but reluctantly signed to Roc-A Fella Records. In 2004 Kanye’s debut album was released, stirring up a storm in the hip hop community. West’s album was nominated album of the year and won itself the title best rap album of the year along with best rap song. This albums refreshing sound and theme cut though the then popular gangsta image of the time, forever earning it a spot in hip hop history.

FLAVOR PROFILE

While not quite as extravagant as Kanye’s other albums college dropout is certainly cemented in history as a classic. While not as plain as a lightly salted chip the album offers a certain zing to it that ups its flavor game. Much like BBQ the albums flavor isn’t too intense or overpowering to where one can’t appreciate what’s under the flavor coating. BBQ seems to best match college dropout because it can be considered oldschool and doesn’t seem to be fading out of relevance anytime soon.
